The intake capacity of this college is controlled by the regulation of National-Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The permitted intakes seats for B.Ed. Courses is 150 (One hundred and fifty) and for M.Ed. Course is 50 (fifty). Out of the total 150 seats of B.Ed. Courses, 50 are reserved for pre-service candidates in agreement with state government’s reservation policy.

RESERVATION NORMS FOR M.ED. COURSE
The total intake capacity for 2(two) years M.Ed. course permitted by NCTE (ERC) is 50 (fifty seats), out of which 25 seats (50%) is admitted under reserved category as per state government reservation policy.

- General Category – 50%
- ST – 31%
- OBC – 13%
- MOBC – 4 %
- SC – 2%
NOTE : If any PWD/Sports candidates is found to be qualify for selection, the respective seats (1 each) will be adjusted in appropriate category.

RESERVATION NORMS FOR B.ED. COURSE
The total sanctioned seats available for the 2 (two) year B.Ed. programme in D.M. College of Teacher Education is 150. Out of these 50 seats are allotted to pre-service candidates and selection of candidates for admission to the course is strictly done through a written test and seats are allotted as per the Manipur State Reservation norms.
However, a total of 100 seats are kept reserved for in-service teacher candidates. They were deputed by the State Education Department since these 100 seats are filled up as per the deputation made by the department concerned the sanction of reservation norms does not arise and is out of preview of DMCTE.
